Are you interested in having straight teeth but not interested in wearing traditional braces for two years or more? Then consider Fastbraces. This orthodontic system uses the same mechanics as standard braces with one small difference that allows Fastbraces to do the job in as little time as three months! Your Clarksville dentist at Arkansas River Valley Dentistry would be happy to meet with you and discuss if you are a good candidate for Fastbraces. In the meantime, read on to learn more about this advanced orthodontic system.
What’s the Fastbraces Difference?
The braces that you’re probably familiar with have metal brackets and archwires. The brackets are bonded to your teeth and hold the wire in place. Fastbraces also uses metal brackets and wires, but the shape of the brackets is different.
Standard braces use brackets that are square shaped, which necessitates moving teeth in separate phases. The first phase moves the crowns of your teeth and later phases move the roots into an upright position. By dividing the orthodontic process into phases, more time is required overall to reach the intended goal of a straight smile.
Fastbraces, however, uses brackets that are triangular rather than square. This shape puts more distance between the bracket on one tooth and the next bracket. This slightly greater distance gives the archwire more flexibility, and this is the key to Fastbraces speed. A more flexible archwire means that the roots of your teeth can move simultaneously with the crowns, so both align in unison. Hence, separate stages of orthodontic treatment become obsolete with Fastbraces.
What’s Involved in Getting Fastbraces?
Your dentist in Clarksville will begin your orthodontic treatment by assembling a comprehensive set of x-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth. These guide the development of your treatment plan. After the Fastbraces brackets and wires are attached to your teeth, you can plan on having to wear them for just a few months. And like traditional braces, Fastbraces can be used to correct a variety of orthodontic problems including an overbite, underbite and crossbite.
What Fastbraces Options are Available?
Fastbraces offers a few different treatment options. The most popular is the standard triangular metal bracket. However, if you prefer to straighten your teeth more discreetly then there is Fastbraces Ceramic Clear™, which uses tooth colored brackets and wires.
Are you in a real hurry to straighten your smile? Then consider Fastbraces Turbo™.
